General
Designed for the critical ear of studio professionals and audiophiles alike, the upgraded Avantone Planar the II studio headphones help to pick all the finer details out of the mix. Catch every vocal breath, every bit of a slowly dying reverb tail, and enjoy tight yet never-dominant bass thanks to these smartly designed, open headphones, while the lightweight construction ensures maximum comfort for hours on end whether you're mixing, recording, producing a podcast or live stream, or simply doing a little casual listening.
Planar Drivers: Hear the Difference
The power of the Planar the II headphones lies in the unique Planar drivers, which feature traditional moving coils and a magnetic field generated by a matrix of neodymium magnets that push and pull the elastic driver at the same time. This means that the extremely thin and ultra-light diaphragm undulates symmetrically across its entire surface, resulting in broad sound, absolutely minimal harmonic distortion and hyper-fast response. The audio also has a more natural feel to it when compared to headphone drivers fitted with a single dynamic magnet that simply pushes.
Deep-Thought Headphones
Besides being lighter than the first-gen editions, these headphones have also been furnished with improved over-ear cushions that remain comfortable for longer. The open design, meanwhile, supports a more organic audio response and tempers the frequency curve to prevent bass frequencies from taking over, making it feel like you're sitting and listening to a set of studio monitors. Thinking of everything, the Planar the II headphones come with an eco-friendly tote bag, a detachable cable and a TRS jack adapter.
