This Denon DJ SM50 active reference monitor has a powerful 90-watt built-in bi-amp amplifier module which sends the signal through a 5.25-inch woofer and a silk dome tweeter. It's the ideal partner to professional gear like the Denon DJ turntable and controller, but it's suitable for recreational use as well.

The frequency range of this monitor goes from 50 to 20,000 Hz. A unique feature of the Denon DJ SM50 monitor is the proximity switch which, when activated, mutes the low tones in your signal. That's a super handy function when your monitors are placed against a wall, as it prevents your sound from getting an unwanted boost by the bass reflex port on the back.

This reference monitor is equipped with a 3-band equalizer for adjusting your sound according to the space you're in. On the rear, you'll find a balanced XLR, a TRS jack, as well as an RCA connector. This SM50 monitor has a sleek grey finish that will look great with any Denon DJ or computer setup.

NAMM 2016: Denon DJ Shows Off SM50 DJ Monitors
Thursday 21 January 2016Denon DJ is branching out, and besides DJ controllers, a turntable and headphones, they're now making speakers too! Hence the versatile SM50 monitors. They were primarily designed as DJ monitors, but they're also great for recreational use.
