Studios around the world are familiar with KRK's yellow-detailed Rokit series monitors. This third-generation RP5 model with 5-inch woofer may be the smallest in the new G3 range, but features an enhanced front baffle and a streamlined design, preventing diffraction for even better audio dispersion and sound projection compared to the previous generation. DJs and producers of any genre recommend this excellent nearfield monitor.
RP5 G3: Design
Where the screws used to be visible on the RP5 G3 studio monitor's predecessor, they have now been hidden beneath a sleek front panel. The tweeter boasts a fresh design and the smooth woofer is augmented by a bass reflex port with rounded corners. This results in more balanced audio. The port is located on the front, giving improved audio dispersion and makes repositioning possibilities easier as well. Placing this monitor near a wall is no longer a problem and unwanted resonance is a thing of the past. On the underside of the RP5 G3 you'll find a neoprene anti-slip layer that prevents sliding and dampens more unwanted resonance.

The Rokit series is immensely popular for a reason. This third-generation line offers high-quality studio performance and a linear frequency response. Despite its relatively small woofer, the RP5 can manage a range of 45 Hz to 35 kHz with great clarity and the bi-amp configuration drives the woofer and tweeter separately with 30 and 20 Watts respectively. For nearfield applications in particular, this is more than enough output to satisfy your needs. High and low tones can be decreased individually with the rotary knobs and connection options include RCA, XLR and jack. If you're ready for a 3rd-generation high-quality active studio monitor, then the KRK RP5 G3 fits the bill!

Were recommended by friends and studio professionals and do the job well.
Have used them with my Nord Piano 3 and they bring out the excellent stereo pianos on the instrument clearly across the range.
On playing recorded media, CDs, vinyl etc through them, I was pleasantly surprised with the bass response even though not I was not expecting a great response with 5" units. They also bring out all nuances in the music due to the flat response. I prefer my warmer hifi speakers for general listening but for mixing and keyboard practice playback, the Rokits are excellent.
A great balance on size, performance and ability to fit on shelves above my desk.

My main criticism is that all of the ontrols are on the rear of the units, including the on-off switch and gain controls. Considering that the instructions tell you to turn the volume to zero before switching on, this makes starting the units up and turning them off a bit of a pain. Front controls would make these units far more user-friendly and life a little easier.
Value for money? Well, is anything worth the money these days? I bought these from Bax because they sent me a 10% discount code and if you buy two together then they take £8 off. So for the total of £189 delivered I managed to overcome my discomfort at spending so much on speakers that I only need to help me listen to music whilst practicing bass. Considering that the same used units are going for only slightly less (and sometimes more!) than that, they were worth it to me. More than this and I probably would have went with something cheaper.

Het geluid dat uit deze KRKs komt klinkt veel dieper en het heeft een betere bass.
Klein minpuntje is dat je lichte lijmsporen ziet op de woofer, maar over het geluid heb ik niks te klagen.
