General

Setting up a new music studio isn't the cheapest of exercises. Among the most important pieces of equipment you'll need are studio monitors. For years, Mackie's products have been popular because they offer excellent value for money and their new XR624 active studio monitor is no exception. It has a 6.5-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter that together produce frequencies that range from 45 Hz to 22 kHz.

Because no two studios are the same, it's possible to place the XR624 in three different positions without affecting its accuracy. Whether you want to place it in the middle of the room, against the wall, or in a corner, you'll still get the purest audio reproduction. The monitor has an automatic off function for when it's not in use and comes with an acoustic isolation pad to prevent vibrations that could adversely affect the sound.

Wrote the following about Mackie XR624 active studio monitor (per unit)

Een tegenvaller. Er zit een flinke ruis in deze monitor. Het is van 2 meter afstand hoorbaar als er geen bron is aangesloten. Het neemt niet af met volume regeling.

Ook tijdens afspelen van muziek is het bij zachte passages op de achtergrond nog steeds te horen. De ruis schat ik zeker 2x zo hard als mijn yamaha HS7 die de helft kost. Wat mij betreft is deze monitor ongeschikt voor zijn functie. En dat zeg ik als hobbyist. Een professionele muzikant zou zeker hogere eisen mogen stellen aan een monitor.

Met bax ging het helaas ook niet helemaal naar tevredenheid deze keer. Eerst een vrij lange levertijd van toeleverancier maar dat was wel vooraf duidelijk. Toen ik wilde terugsturen aan bax kreeg ik 1 retourticket voor 2 dozen. Sta ik bij DHL afleverpunt en moesten ze me uitleggen dat ze maar 1 doos per ticket konden accepteren. Dus met de andere doos terug naar huis. Extra ticket gevraagd, in eerste instantie snelle reactie maar geen ticket ontvangen. Twee keer gerappelleerd; na 4 dagen nog geen ticket ontvangen.

Last but not least; ik heb voor deze aanschaf een kortingsbon gebruikt. Zonde. Ik wilde graag een andere set bestellen, maar op mijn vriendelijk verzoek om hier iets mee te doen werd ik helaas teleurgesteld.

Met terugsturen zal het vast wel goedkomen, maar deze monitor is zonde van de moeite.

Fantastische speakers!

Heb ze nu ongeveer een maand en moet zeggen dat ik serieus positief verrast ben. Er zijn nog niet veel reviews en dergelijke te vinden over deze speakers laat staan plaatsen waar je ze kan uittesten aangezien ze nog gloednieuw zijn.
De keuze was hierdoor zeker moeilijk aangezien het een beetje een blinde koop is.

Maar ik ben blij dat ik er toch voor ben gegaan want ze klinken geweldig met heel veel detail en een breed stereobeeld! Ze gaan ook heel laag waardoor een subwoofer mogelijks naar smaak zelfs niet nodig is.

Kortom indien je speakers wilt die gedetailleerd zijn bij het producen/mixen maar die toch een niet te klinisch geluid hebben en een plezier zijn bij het luisteren, dan moet je bij de deze zijn!
