General
Digitech's Dirty Robot stomp box gives guitarists access to a wide variety of synthesizer sounds. This effects pedal is a stereo synth with 7 parameters in a compact, stylish housing. A switch at the top lets you choose between two voicings: synth (V1) and vocal (V2). With synth, you'll get warm, classic synthesizer sounds straight from the '80s. With vocal, you'll have vocal formant synth sounds that can be used for things like vocoder emulation.
Dirty Robot: potentiometers
With the Mix and Mod knobs, the synth effect level can be adjusted, as well as the built-in chorus and vibrato modulation effects. The Drift knob allows you to distort the sound with Sub, Octave and Square waveforms. Turning the Start and Stop knobs will let you adjust the start and stop frequency positions in synth mode and adjust the vocal formant range and sweep in vocal mode. The final knobs, Sens and Time, give you control over the sensitivity of the synth sweep and the time of the sweep respectively.
Vibrato, True Bypass and accessories
To activate the vibrato effect, simply hold in the on/off switch on the Dirty Robot. A green LED will you know when it's been activated. This compact stereo mini-synth effects pedal has two jack inputs and two jack outputs. It's a True Bypass pedal, meaning it won't affect your sound when it's not in use. The pedal comes with custom-cut Velcro and a Stomplock so that you won't change the settings accidentally.
