ARP Odyssey Analogue Synthesizer
General
In collaboration with David Field, the designer of the original ARP Odyssey, Korg has developed a faithful replica of the legendary analogue synth. The Korg ARP Odyssey is a mono/duophonic synthesizer with 2 VCOs, a white/pink noise generator, an LFO, an ADSR envelope generator, sample-and-hold functionality and a low-pass filter. There's also a 37-key, 3-octave keyboard and an ARP PPC (Proportional Pitch Controller) with three white, pressure-sensitive controls that allow you to operate pitch and modulation. A portamento fader and a switch for transposing up and down are at your disposal as well.
Korg ARP Odyssey
The looks and technological characteristics of the Korg ARP Odyssey are virtually identical to those of the ARP Odyssey Mark II from 1975. An ADSR envelope generator, located on the right, allows you to intuitively fine-tune attack, decay, sustain and release. The stylish black housing with gold-coloured details houses a 4-pole low-pass filter that sounds remarkably richer than the 2-pole model of the first Odyssey from 1972. With this great piece of analogue gear you'll be following in the footsteps of artists like ABBA, Ultravox, Chick Corea, Vangelis and Elton John, who all used the ARP Odyssey.
