Patchblocks are miniature modular synthesizers that you can program yourself. The necessary software to control them is available as a free download and features a visual, intuitive interface that beginners will get the hang of right away! At the same time, experienced sound-designers and synth-lovers are sure to love all the possibilities Patchblocks have to offer. Are you looking for a filter module, sequencer or arpeggiator? Make them yourself with Patchblocks!
How do Patchblocks work?
The necessary software is free to download and compatible with both Mac and PC. It gives you a choice of various low-level sound processing items which you can combine with virtual cables, just like you would with an actual modular synthesizer. In the editor, you can listen to your own creation. If you're happy with it, you can upload the patch to your computer easily by means of an included USB cable. Recharging the internal battery is also done via the USB port.
What can I do with it?
With Patchblocks, you can let your creative juices flow by using them separately, or connecting them to your gear. Patchblocks are designed to be experimented with! Don't be afraid to think outside the box. You can link multiple Patchblocks together as well. You can generate an LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator) on one Patchblock that influences the process of another, for instance. You can also create a chain of effects, analogue via audio cables or digitally, simply by clicking two Patchblocks together.
