General
Denon DJ's SC5000 Prime is a digital tabletop with a 7-inch touch screen, 8 performance pads and Denon's very own Engine Prime music management software for optimal, seamless sets. The display features HD resolution at 55 frames per second, which is about four times the amount of the current club standard. This means you can select a new track, scroll within it and your library and zoom in and out in seconds. If you prefer a more hands-on approach, there's also a rotary knob on the right that offers the same functionality.
Fully Equipped
Besides a mixer (like the X1800 Prime), you don't need much else to take full advantage of the SC5000 Prime. This media player has an 8-inch aluminium jog wheel with a central display, an adjustable coloured ring, 100mm pitch fader and a fistful of other features. With the 8 performance pads, you can activate and create cues, play loops, start rolls or use the slicer. With the loop move rotary knob, you can start them at exactly the right time and adjust them with ease.
Layer by Layer
This tabletop allows you to play two tracks at once and the clear display makes finding a beat-matching track as quick and easy as can be. Determining a beatgrid or playlist is streamlined completely by the help of Engine Prime, Denon's own music management software that works seamlessly with Serato. All you need to do is plug in a USB stick and you're good to go! If you need even more space for tracks, there are two USB ports as well as an SD card slot. There are also plenty of outputs, including two RCA connections, a digital out, USB for your PC and a link connection (RJ45) to connect up to four devices at once.

Hoe het aanvoelt is natuurlijk altijd subjectief: de ene persoon zal liever Pioneer hebben en de andere liever Denon DJ.
1 advies: test vooral zelf en laat je keuze niet bepalen door mensen die commentaar geven op een merk zonder het ooit zelf geprobeerd te hebben (en die bovendien graag hun zuurverdiende centen aan (té) hoog geprijsd materiaal.
Ik ben in ieder geval fan, ook van 'het gevoel'. De platter voelt zeker anders aan dan die van de CDJ Nexus2, iets minder 'gewichtig' en smoother. Sommige mensen zullen hier fan van zijn en sommigen niet, maar koop je een volledige set dan bedraagt het verschil toch +- 3000 euro voor een technologisch meer geavanceerde set.
Ik hoopte dat Pioneer hieruit zou leren, maar buiten een zeer kwaliteitsvolle (XDJ-XZ) maar zware en lompe controller, zit ik momenteel op mijn honger en heb ik daarom de SC5000 aangekocht.

Bij Laenen Music in Oosterhout staan ze nu nog voor 1.525. Ik dacht dat Bax de laagste prijs garantie geeft maar dit verschil is wel erg groot!

Dit is dan ook mijn enige kleine minpuntje. De hotcues, loops, rest van de dingen ingelezen door Rekordbox vond ik niet meer terug. Heb dus alles netjes terug moeten instellen in engine prime. Ik noem dit een klein minpuntje aangezien ik ook weer op die manier mijn nummers anders ging benaderen bv. andere cue punten en loops ed.
Ik heb het idee dat met deze spelers mijn creativiteit terug helemaal naar boven komt. De verschillende functies gekoppeld aan de pads, het duidelijke scherm, de dubbele layers, ... Eigenlijk is het allemaal heel simpel gehouden door Denon maar voelt het toch allemaal zeer professioneel aan.
De harde schijven van 2 TB werden verschrikkelijk snel gevonden en ingelezen door het toestel. Wel 1 bemerking hierbij is dat de harde schijven wel best bij veel bestanden geformateerd zijn naar exfat.
Deze spelers in combinatie met (sinds gisteren) mijn denon x1800 maken me super gelukkig en doet mijn creativiteit opnieuw sprankelen op een andere doch heel vertrouwde manier.

Nu nog wachten op de flightcase voor deze toppers ;-)
Ook nog even meegeven (zeker niet onbelangrijk) dat de service en het contact met bax-shop.nl super en een echt voorbeeld is hoe het altijd zou moeten zijn. Hebben me steeds heel correct op de hoogte gehouden van de wachttijden. SUPER EN EEN HELE DIKKE DANK U WEL
