Pioneer’s CDJ-350 is a multimedia player that supports most music formats (MP3, AIFF, WAV, AAC) that are stored on USB sticks, hard drives or CD-R/RWs. Needless to say it's also capable of playing back audio CDs. Connect this versatile player to your computer or laptop via USB, and it doubles as a MIDI controller for your favourite DJ software, or as an external sound card that allows you to play back tracks on your computer.
Pioneer CDJ-350: Rekordbox
Using the included music management software Rekordbox, you can analyse and transfer tracks to a USB stick. Connect this USB stick to the CDJ-350, and you're able to select songs by genre, album or artist. This gives you the opportunity to prepare your DJ sets at home, complete with playlists and hot cues. Once it's showtime, simply connect your USB stick to the CDJ-350 and you're good to go. If you prefer to pick your songs on the night itself, depending on the mood and preferences of your audience, it's also possible to record the tracks you've played as a history file, and to save it in Rekordbox via your USB stick as a unique playlist, for later reference. Using the Playlist button, you can add any selected song directly to your playlist. That way, finding a favourite track in your extensive music library becomes much easier.
Useful functions that make DJing fun
This Pioneer player has a Beat display which shows the playing position and the beats of a track. This allows you to recognise the beats both visually and by ear, which gives you a sense of hand-eye-ear coordination that is quite pleasant during scratching and looping. And speaking of loops: the CDJ-350 has an elaborate loop function that enables you to automatically create completely synchronised loops. The Loop Divide button allows you to half your loop with each push, while the Hot Loop button brings you back to the start of a recorded loop. Could we possibly make it any easier for you?!
Beats per Minute (BPM)
Using the CDJ-350’s auto BPM Lock function, you can apply a preset BPM rate to any chosen track with just the push of a button. This function makes it easier for beginning DJs to effortlessly match the speed of two different tracks. Tempo adjustments are easily made by means of the pitch fader, which allows you to make variations of +/- 6%, +/-10%, +/-16% or +/-100% (WIDE). If you do not want to change the pitch of the music while speeding a track up or down, simply press the Master Tempo button.
