The Thunderbolt I/O technology offers you tremendous speed when transferring data between your computer and the connected external devices. This technology is actually twenty times faster than USB 2.0 and twelve times faster than FireWire 800! Apple has equipped the Thunderbolt Display with all of the necessary I/O ports so you can connect your external devices to the screen via three USB 2.0, one FireWire 800 and one Gigabit network connector. You can also connect a second Thunderbolt Display or other Thunderbolt hardware via the Thunderbolt port.
More than just a screen
Most screens have to warm up first before they can reach maximum brightness. Not the Apple thunderbolt Display though; this screen offers you optimal brightness from the get-go, thanks to the LED backlighting. The brightness is actually adjusted automatically according to how much light is in your room. This monitor also features a built-in Face Time HD camera, a microphone, a 49W 2.1 speaker system, and a convenient MagSafe connector for charging your Apple notebook.
