General
The Generation Flageolet 6583 is a nickel-plated tin whistle in D, which is the most commonly used key. It is specifically suited for melodies in D major, although G major melodies shouldn’t be a problem either. In fact, with the necessary skills and technique you can produce any desired key with this 6-holed whistle. However, it is recommended that you change tin whistle when you change key. Tin whistles in all keys are available in our shop. These nickel-plated models are silver-coloured and sound a little clearer than their copper-coloured brass counterparts.
The popular Flageolet in D
The popular tin whistle, as we commonly call it, is also known as the Irish flageolet. Since they were first sold in the 19th century, they have become an integral part of Scottish and Irish folk music. They can also be heard in film soundtracks, folk rock and folk metal. Generation’s flageolets are used by both amateurs and professionals and are known for their clear, traditional sound.

De Clark klinkt veel minder schel dan de Generation. Clark heeft meer "valse lucht" klinkt daardoor "ronder" en minder scherp.
Maar soms wil je juist scherp en een andere keer een wat "ronder" geluid. Ligt aan de melodie en eigen smaak wat je mooier vindt. Ze kunnen elkaar wat dat betreft goed aanvullen.
De Clark ziet er minder "kinderspeelgoed" uit dan de Generation, wat de Generation overigens geen kinderachtige fluit maakt. Intengedeel.
Zelfs bekende spelers spelen soms op een Generation.
De Generation klinkt dus wat scherper en persoonlijk vind ik dat mooier.
Ook is die een paar euro goedkoper dan de Clark en ik speel er graag op.
Voor dit geld ( 10 a 15) zijn beide fluiten prima.
Ben heel tevreden.
