General
A laminated soundboard is fine to start with, but it shows little dynamic response when you play harder or softer. A solid-built instrument reacts far more sensitively to the vibrations of the strings, and that gives you a richer, more expressive tone which stays clear and defined in the low and the high registers alike. Mahogany, meanwhile, is known for its warm, full sound and its beautiful resonance. You'll find that combination in the Cascha CUSMS2: a soprano ukulele with a solid mahogany body, finished matte and left without binding for a pure look.
Build and finishing details
With a scale length of 350 mm and a total length of 54 cm, this is a compact instrument that's easy to take along. The neck is made of okoume, the fretboard and the bridge are rosewood, and the nut and saddle are cut from ox bone. The fluorocarbon strings give a brilliant tone and precise intonation, while the high-quality closed tuners hold the tuning stable, even under heavy use. Two strap pins are already fitted so you can clip on a strap, and the padded bag with its accessory compartment means everything travels protected.
