The Flight Designer Series DUB38 MAH Soundwave baritone ukulele features a built-in pickup system complete with effects that can be added to both the acoustic and the amplified sound. How does that work, you ask? Plugged in, the piezo pickup sends the signal generated by the vibration of the strings to the preamp, which then sends it to the jack output where it's routed to your amp or PA system via your jack cable. When played acoustically, this ukulele has an extra trick up its sleeve in the form of a small device stuck to the back of the body inside the resonance chamber. Basically, this ingenious little contraption transmits the vibrations of the strings to the body itself. If no cable is plugged in, the resonance chamber of the ukulele will act as a speaker to amplify the sound, which means you can add the built-in effects to the sound without the need for an external amplifier. Reverb, chorus, delay...it's all on the table and you can even adjust the volume via a dedicated control.
