General

The Eclipse-TE8 is an acoustic 8-string tenor ukulele from the Ortega Eclipse Series. The fully mahogany and gloss-lacquered body is fitted with an African okoume wood neck and walnut fretboard echoed by walnut binding along the edges of the body. Gold-plated machine heads are accented by red tuning pegs, while the top is finished with a unique Eclipse inlay just below the sound-hole. The bevelled arm-rest-edge along the left edge of the base and the subtle cutaway ensure a high level of playing comfort and the bright sound created by the double-stringed format of this instrument, gives it a mandolin-like sound along with all the fullness and warmth you would expect from a ukulele. The Eclipse-TE8 comes complete with its very own gig bag.

Ik ben zeer tevreden over deze tenor ukelele en ook heel tevreden over de levering. Het product werd geleverd in een stevige doos en zat dan nog eens beschermd in een kleinere doos en verpakt in een stevige gigbag.

Deze Ukelele is heel mooi afgewerkt. Op zich is het al een mooi instrument om te zien. Door de 8 snaren is de klank veel voller en rijker (ook in de lage tonen) dan bij een gewone ukelele. Naar mijn persoonlijke smaak zou de klank iets warmer mogen zijn maar dat kan misschien door er andere snaren op te leggen.

Deze ukelele speelt ook heel gemakkelijk, de actie is niet te hoog en er is voldoende plaats om je vingers kwijt te geraken.

Kortom, ik ben zeer tevreden over deze ukelele. De prijs is misschien wat hoger maar dat is ze zeker waard. Daarom kan ik zowel het instrument als ook de zaak van harte aanbevelen.
