The striking ZW45
Zakk Wylde was involved in designing both the sound and the looks of the pedal, and as such it has been finished with an abrasive tool for a flashy metal look. Knowing Wylde's preferences, Dunlop added a feature to the design so that the Signature Cry Baby produces growling bass in the heel position, and in contrast with typical wah pedals, it doesn't finish with a shrill high in the toe position, but a fatter, more sparkling wah sound.

De ZW45 is erg veelzijdig en leent zich daardoor niet slechts voor de hardere gitaarstijlen, maar kan ook zeer goed gebruikt worden voor bijvoorbeeld funk, blues en bluesrock. De bediening is zoals je van een Crybaby gewend bent en de weerstand is naar wens aan te passen.
Natuurlijk leent deze Wah zich voor gitaristen die het geluid van Zakk Wylde willen benaderen, maar het heeft absoluut meer in zijn mars!
De ZW45 zorgt een mooie, warme toon als je het combineert met een bluesy overdrive.
Als je een high-gain setup hebt, kan de ZW45 je net die extra "punch" geven die je nodig hebt voor je sologeluid: je toon wordt nog ietsje meer overdriven en je krijgt iets meer sustain, perfect voor (metal) solo's! Er zit geen extra boost op, zoals bijvoorbeeld wel op bepaalde andere Crybabies, maar die heb je in dit geval ook zeker niet nodig.
Over het uiterlijk van de ZW45 kan ik kort zijn: zoals elke Crybaby is het een kwalitatief goed apparaat dat tegen een behoorlijke stomppartij kan. De afwerking is ook erg mooi, met een mooie glossy finish. Deze Wah valt zeker op in je pedalboard!
Kortom: Als je op zoek bent naar een goede Wah, zonder poespas maar die toch veelzijdig is en je sologeluid net dat extra zetje geeft, dan is dit een absolute aanrader!
