The Beyerdynamic TG100-B is a wireless headset system. It comes with a receiver, bodypack transmitter and headset microphone, and is easy to set up! The headset is connected to the transmitter, which operates on two AA batteries and can be clipped to your trousers or held in a jack pocket. The transmitter and receiver both feature a channel switch, these allow you to synchronise the two devices. Instead of a headset microphone, you can also use a (separately available) cable to connect an instrument (like a guitar, for instance) to the 4-pin XLR input.

The practical headset of the TG100-B

Once the transmitter and receiver are connected, you can move freely at a distance of up to 80 metres from the receiver. Furthermore, the batteries of the TG100-B beltpack will keep the unit lit for about ten hours! The cardioid pickup pattern of the headset microphone ensures that you don't have to speak directly into the microphone and therefore it's no big deal if the mic moves a bit during your public speaking or vocal performance. Use the 3-way gain switch to optimise the input level for normal, close and far-off use.

Using the receiver

The microphone signal is sent to the TG100-R receiver by the transmitter. You can choose from eight channels, so that you could use eight wireless TG100 sets simultaneously within this VHF frequency bands. The way in which the signal is subsequently sent to your mixer or active speaker can be adjusted with the volume knob. If intelligibility takes precedence in your performance, you should set the switch at the back to Speech. Furthermore, this receiver is fitted with two common connectors: a 6.3mm jack output and, for balanced output, an XLR output.
