General
You may already be familiar with API-style preamps: that direct, punchy character that made New York the capital of the recording world. The Heritage Audio LANG 312L delivers precisely that energy, with a gain range that has few rivals: up to 90dB. Enough to let every microphone in your collection shine without an external boost – particularly useful for ribbon and vintage mics that normally fall just a little short. For those who want the API sound – that characteristic, present, slightly more aggressive character that gives kick drums, bass and guitars extra bite – without the price tag of the better-known 500-series competitors in this segment. Widely used as a replacement for more expensive API-style preamps, with the same industry-standard op-amp footprint so you can expand or swap later. An entry-level price that doesn’t feel like a compromise.
