General

The thicker the strings, the thicker and fuller the sound. The Ernie Ball 2564 Aluminum Bronze strings for western guitar are quite hefty despite the 'medium' designation. As such, they have a thickness of .013 to .056 inches which makes them feel nice and solid. Besides thickness, the material also plays a big role in the sound of steel strings. Ernie Ball went completely new directions and added aluminium to the ingredients. The result is more AND defined low end and a crisp high end.

About the Ernie Ball Aluminium Bronze strings

It's the latest innovation in acoustic guitar strings since 1974! These strings consist of a core of Maraging steel and an aluminium/copper alloy winding. The result is a rich, full and focused tone with more projection and clarity than traditional 'bronze' strings. Thanks to the addition of aluminium, these strings are also more resistant to corrosion, so they stay brighter and last longer.
