The Lowden O22 Mahogany & Cedar is a beautiful western guitar with a rich sound, timeless design and a high level of finish. The O-body (jumob) is the largest body shape within the Lowden range and is known for its powerful projection and wide, open soundstage. Despite its generous size, the guitar remains well-balanced and comfortably playable, whether seated or standing. The solid cedar top provides clarity, dynamics and plenty of headroom, while the mahogany sides and back add a warm, focused midrange with natural resonance. The combination of both woods results in a sound that is instantly appealing, but at the same time remains rich and layered, with tight bass and controlled treble.

The O22 responds extremely sensitively to all the nuances in your guitar playing, lending itself perfectly to expressive fingerstyle parts, but also maintaining its definition and balance during vigorous strumming. Like all Lowden guitars, this model was hand-built in Northern Ireland by experienced luthiers, guaranteeing a high level of finish, excellent resonance and a ready-to-play setup. The Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings (12-53) stay stable in tune on the Gotoh SG381 tuning machines, and last a long time. A sturdy case is included in the price, for safe transport and optimal protection against impact and scratches.
