General

Yamaha served up the first FG Series models about half a century ago, meaning the all-new FG800 comes backed up by a highly respected legacy and decades of guitar-building experience. This faithful steel-string has been outfitted with a solid spruce top to guarantee rich sound, which comes supported by a redesigned bracing structure developed by Yamaha's R&D division.

The FG800: Scalloped Bracing

The new, scalloped bracing ensures that the soundboard is able to shape optimal basses and mids, but there's more that Yamaha have added to make sure that this natural-finished variant is received by players with open arms. The extra-thin neck and rounded walnut fretboard edges for instance offer optimum playing comfort, while the Yamaha-grade build quality helps to keep the tuning of the strings in check.
