General
With the DAP DRX-8A you can do nearly anything PA-related! This active PA speaker is highly compact and has a durable design. It can be used on the road, as well as in permanent installations in conference rooms, small pubs/restaurants or other small venues. With separately available mounting eyelets, the DRX-8A can be used in a flown capacity and thanks to the 35mm flange, stand mounting isn't a problem. The bass-reflex housing is internally braced and adds additional punch to the lower frequencies.
DAP DRX-8A: properties
The DRX-8A is small, but good things come in small packages, especially if they contain a bi-amp amplifier module! It delivers 150 watts to the 8-inch woofer and 25 watts to the 1-inch compression driver, which has an equal dispersion of 50 x 50 degrees. In a full-range, as well as a stereo configuration with an active subwoofer from the DRX series, this speaker is a practical choice! Its maximum SPL equals 119.5 dB, which is highly respectable considering its size. At the rear you will find an XLR input and link-out connector. Volume controls and a switchable ground lift complete the picture.

Wrote the following about DAP DRX-8A active speaker
Verder is hij erg midrange heavy en valt de spreiding van de hoorn een beetje tegen.
Ik verwacht van een 8" woofer geen superbas, maar zo weinig bas als hier uitkomt vind ik tegenvallen. Hij is duidelijk ontworpen om met een sub gebruikt te worden want stand alone voldoet hij niet - ik had er 2 besteld als ondersteuning voor een bijzaaltje waar de hoofdzaal nog steed hoorbaar is.
Als hij alleen voor spraak gebruikt wordt is hij wel geschikt, want stemmen komen redelijk prettig uit deze speaker. Maar dan is het ruisen van de ventilator juist weer een probleem.
Kortom, ik heb ze teruggestuurd. In de bijzaal hangen nu kleinere speakers met aanzienlijk meer bas. Het kan dus wel...
