Ideal if your standard full-range speakers need backing up with some extra-deep basses, the Devine Axeo 18SA Subwoofer brings all the power and all the ease of an internal crossover filter, ground-lift, phase-switching and more. This affordable active model features a built-in amplifier module so it can be directly hooked up to a PA mixer, a DJ mixer or DJ console. The sub then automatically splits the input signal, reproducing the low-end frequencies itself before passing the mids and trebles onto a set of connected 12 inch or 15 inch active speakers via the outputs. This immediately gives the higher frequency range more breathing room, resulting in a speaker system that doesn't just sound more full but is capable of pushing more volume.

The Professional Choice

This active subwoofer features a hefty 18 inch woofer which is efficiently driven by an on-board amplifier with a 450 Watt RMS output rating, giving you plenty of power to work with. Combine it with a set of standard 12 inch or 15 inch satellite speakers to build the ideal system or team it up with a number of smaller speakers - either way, you gain balanced yet full sound. Besides a set of stereo inputs and outputs, the rear panel hands users control over the subwoofer volume level and the crossover frequency, which can be adjusted from 40 to 250 Hertz, where a crossover point of around 100 to 120 Hertz gives you the optimum balance.

Solid Construction

This bass bin is fully protected by a strong cabinet made from 15mm thick MDF panels finished with scratch-resistance lacquer and fitted with a metal front grille that guards the woofer and more sensitive internal components. Practical side handles make loading and positioning that bit easer, but since this model weighs in at 34 kilos, it can also be loaded onto a wheel board or dolly. The upper side of the Axeo 18SA has also been fitted with an M20 mounting point, so a distance rod can be screwed in place to support an active speaker, improving the audio dispersion and performance.
