General

Built for extreme, low-reaching and powerful bass reproduction, the HK Audio Linear 5 MKII 118 Sub A active 18 inch subwoofer is the ideal match for the full range speakers from the same range. Due to the extra-forceful 18 inch format, this sub will definitely serve to complete a big fixed sound installation, and since the housing has been built from heavy-duty plywood and MDF, you're assured of outstanding acoustic performance and a little less weight than the MKI. The Linear 5 MKII also features an M20 stand flange for mounting a distance rod and satellite speaker and comes fitted with a pair of recessed MultiGrip handles to ease loading and positioning.

DSP Control Software

All of the digital settings of the Linear 5 MKII sub can be remotely controlled via the compatible DSP Control software, which can be used to toggle your entire PA system or just manage the stage monitors. Set the gain, tweak the ten-band parametric equalizer, set the high-pass and low-pass filters, the delay, the limiters and even flip the polarity switch - all from a comfortable distance. Integrate the speaker into your network via the EtherCon port fitted on the rear, and to send the processed signal to speakers that aren't connected to the network, simply use the fitted DSP Out XLR port.

Wrote the following about HK Audio Linear 5 MKII 118 Sub A 18-inch Active Subwoofer

Des bombes!!! Utilisateur d'un pack power première génération depuis 8ans (lsub2000 a + 112xa) je suis passé sur la nouvelle génération.
Les 118 sub mk2 sont très nettement supérieurs aux sub 2000a. Les basses sont plus profondes et la puissance est bien 40% supérieure.
Le seul inconvénient comparé à l'ancienne génération c'est le poids et le nouveau format des housses qui ne permettent plus de fixer des roulettes à l'arrière pour pouvoir les basculer et les déplacer facilement seul.
Il reste la solution du plateau à roulettes sur mesure.
Pour résumer, si vous cherchez un caisson de basse qui envoie la foutre, n'hésitez pas. Couplés à des 112fa ou 115fa vous obtenez un excellent système de sonorisation.
