General
A problem many audio technicians deal with regularly are scattered low frequencies. QSC seems to have found the solution with the K Cardioid active subwoofer by giving it a cardioid directional pattern. This means the sound is concentrated and aimed forward so no bass tones are lost via the sides or rear of the cabinet. As a result, the sound pressure at the front increases by 15 dB, giving you a more focused sound that allows low frequencies more space in the mix. You won't have to worry about placement, delay, or polarity—QSC does the maths for you!
KS212C: Innovative design
In order to achieve this, the K Cardioid has two 12-inch excursion drivers that fit in a 6th order bandpass chamber. This means you have a sort of line array, but of the subwoofer variety! You've got 2x 1800 watts of power at your disposal, which is enough to provide an entire venue with plenty of low tones. If you're taking this sub with you on the road, you can take advantage of its rugged aluminium handles and wheels. What's more, you can place the K Cardioid horizontally or vertically depending on where you want to use it, and you'll find M20 stand flanges on the top and side.
