General

The Yamaha DXS 15MKII 15-inch active subwoofer is compact in size but delivers a low-end you'd expect from a professional PA speaker, which makes it ideal for use in intimate venues or on location in mobile setups. Compared to its predecessor, this sub has a more powerful Class-D amplifier that boasts an impressive output of 1020 watts. It features a frequency range of 42 to 150 Hz and an increased SPL of 3 dB to ensure a defined bass reproduction and minimal distortion. The three selectable crossover frequencies enable you to match this sub perfectly with other speakers from the DSR, DXR or DBR series. What's more, to create a great mix, you have the choice between three DSP presets: normal, boost and extended LF. The band-pass construction minimises vibrations, which results in a higher SPL and less distortion.

Wrote the following about Yamaha DXS15mkII Active Subwoofer

Powerful sub. I am using these in combination with the DXR12. I was hesitant whether this sub would be better for the DXR10 or 8, and maybe the DXS18 would be more suited for the DXR12. However, the DXS18 was out of my budget, specially because I was getting 2, one for each speaker. I think the DXS15 is a pretty good match for the 12s, the sub is certainly way deeper than the speakers and complements them with a good punch. But not sure if only one would be enough for the 12s, then you'd have to crank up the volume of the sub and it would feel like an earthquake in closed venues. In that sense, probably the 18 is only for open air events. Overall, recommended.

Als je het beste wilt, dan heb je geen andere keuze dan de Yamaha DXS-serie! Ik ging voor de DXS 15mkII. Net getest en niet te geloven strakke, powervolle, zeer krachtige, onvervormde klank. Wat een power! Zeer tevreden na dagen van opzoekwerk om de beste sub te vinden die er op de markt is in het 15 inch segment. Samen met mijn DBR tops van Yamaha heb ik goud ontdekt. Zelfs de nieuwste QSC-sub moet de duimen leggen. Zoek niet verder of u passeert de beste Sub!
