General

The YAS-480S is a silver-plated alto saxophone from Yamaha. This radiant model has a medium pitch, which means you have a lot of flexibility. The alto sax is popular because it fits well in pop music, but that doesn't stop you from using it for ensembles too. Adjustable screw cap stoppers allow for incredibly technical adjustments. An improved mechanism allows the low C# to close more reliably, making the B sound good. The neck provides a nice sound and response, but can also be replaced with saxophone necks (sold separately) from Yamaha's Custom Z or custom EX series. A hand-engraved pattern on the sound cup is another extra detail that makes this alto saxophone unique.
