General
LD Systems' CURV 500 I Amp is designed with the idea of driving CURV 500 installations in mind. Because the amp has a 'low-profile' design, it fits into almost any interior. It is a 4-channel Class D amplifier that features 2.7, 4, 8 or 16-ohm impedance curves. In terms of connections, you can choose from terminal block- or Speakon-type connections to drive the speaker(s). It is also protected against block waves, overvoltage, short circuit and overheating. Controlling the amp is child's play and works by means of a so-called 'push encoder', or a single button that you can press to select the menu on the OLED display and confirm your choice. The DSP control is also very nice; with it you conjure up a delay and a parametric equaliser and find presets on board for different satellite and subwoofer configurations. To keep the amp cool internally, a 'low-noise' fan has been used that only kicks on when the amp gets hot. The amp is capable of driving six CURV 500 satellites and one CURV 500 subwoofer per channel.
