General
The RME DTOX-16 I/O breakout panel is designed to connect (passive) male and female XLR connectors to D-sub. XLR connectors deliver a reliable, pure signal but the plugs themselves are quite large, which can present a problem with compact recorders and audio interfaces, especially in terms of mobile applications. For that reason, a D-sub connector can be a real game-changer. The DTOX breakout panel has eight male XLR and eight female XLR connectors as well as two corresponding D-subs on the rear.
