General
Alesis' MultiMix 4 USB is a four-channel desktop mixer that has been specifically designed for producers and film editors. The mixer is ideal for video editing, podcast recording and production studios, as it is equipped with a digital audio interface and, in addition to line-level analogue audio, also outputs 16-bit stereo, 44.1kHz digital audio via a USB connection.
The MultiMix 4 USB is equipped with four channels, all of which accept a 1/4-inch line input. As the mixer supplies the required 48 volts of phantom power, it is possible to connect two XLR microphones, and a guitar or bass guitar can be easily connected as well. Additionally, the MultiMix 4 USB features a LED meter for the outputs and a stereo 1/4-inch headphone output with its own level control.
Channels one and two offer switchable high-pass filtering at 75 Hz, enabling you to eliminate low-frequency, handling and wind noise. Each channel has its own independent pan control and channels one and two feature high and low-shelving EQs, as well as independent gain trims. Channels three and four are configured as a stereo pair at the level and pan controls.
The MultiMix 4 USB features a two-channel, five-step multi-colour LED meter for visual monitoring of the master output levels.

Simpele mixer die werkt zonder drivers te hoeven installeren.
Phantom power duurt twee seconden om aan te zetten, maar dat schijnt normaal te zijn.
Alles werkt naar behoren en erg fijn.
Twee kleine verbeterpuntjes:
- Je kunt niet één microfoon met én één zonder phantom power aansluiten. Het is of of.
- Zorg ervoor dat het volume van de mixer in Windows tussen 3 en 6 komt te staan, deze staat standaard op 100, en hij reset constant. Dit is een veelvoorkomend probleem, Alesis heeft dit op hun website aanbevolen. Het resetten komt door Windows, dus dat is gewoon jammer, maar prima mee te leven. Er zijn zelfs programmaatjes die het steeds voor je terugzetten op een bepaald volume.
Voor een kleine studio of thuisgebruik absoluut een aanrader.

Voor deze lage prijs krijg je namelijk:
- een analoog(!) 4-kanaals mengpaneel met een uitstekende, ongekleurde klank
- een digitale USB-uitgang waarmee je rechtstreeks op je PC of laptop kan opnemen
- mogelijkheid om zowel micro's, gitaar/bass als line-signalen (synths) aan te sluiten
- simpele maar bijzonder effectieve equalizing op de eerste twee kanalen
- een 'low cut' knop waarmee je bijgeluiden (van bv. microfoons) kan elimineren
- schakelbare 48V phantom power voor bv. condensatormicrofoons
- een degelijk afgewerkt en stevig apparaat (volledig metalen behuizing, geen plastic)
Warm aanbevolen voor iedereen die op een ongecompliceerde, budgetvriendelijke maar toch goed klinkende manier aan homerecording wil doen!

De Alesis Multimix 4 is echt een goed product voor een beginnende DJ zoals mij.
Plus punten:
- Erg gemakkelijk mee te werken
- Past goed op je bureau
- Usb aansluiting werkt perfect
- De functie's van het Mengpaneel staan goed aangegeven in het bijbehorende boekje.
- Engelse versie van het handleidings boekje
Min punten:
- Ik vind hem toch best wel duur voor wat deze mengpaneel kan, maar hier heb ik zelf voor gekozen aangezien ik geen Sound FX effecten nodig heb.
- Verder zou ik geen min punten weten bij dit product
Met anderen woorden: Een top mengpaneeltje voor beginners!
