With the Mix8, Mackie has issued a compact, high-quality mixer with two microphone inputs and two stereo inputs. Mackie is known for their outstanding audio products, which is largely due to their use of high-grade components. The Mix8 was specifically designed for people who don't need a large, complex mixer, but it's also a great asset for home studios, thanks to the inclusion of a separately adjustable headphone output.
Take one look at the Mix8, and 'well-organised' is the first term that comes to mind. The mixer's free of unnecessary bells and whistles, offering nothing but practical features. Its first two channels are suitable for microphones and mono line sources. Channels 3 and 4 are essentially stereo channels, but can also be used as mono channels. Each of the Mix8's channels features a 3-band equalizer and a pan or balance knob. An auxiliary allows you to send a separate signal to a monitor, and a stereo aux return allows you to use it for external effects as well.
If you purchase a Mackie product, high quality is guaranteed, as the manufacturer uses only the best electronic and mechanical components. The Mix8's housing is made of rugged metal so it can take a hit, and its internal circuitry has been developed with efficiency in mind. Its microphone preamplifier offers high headroom and features a special low-noise design. In short, with this Mackie mixer, you treat yourself to a high-grade piece of technology that'll keep you in business for years.
