If you only want to amplify specific audio sources, then the Mackie ProFX4v2 mixer is a great choice. Like all Mackie products, this mixer is designed for professional use and is built like a tank. It's equipped with two microphone inputs that are supported by enhanced, very quiet Vita preamps, and a stereo input.
ProFX4v2: fine-tuning
You can adjust the incoming sound on the ProFX4v2 with great precision using the 2-band equalizers on each channel. What's more, there is a 5-band equalizer that enables you to fine-tune the tonal character even more according to the acoustics of the room. If you're performing in an intimate venue, then the Mackie's subtle, atmospheric echo or chorus effects are sure to come in handy. There are a total of sixteen effects in this device that can be adjusted in volume for each individual channel.
Extras for live musicians
If you're a live performer, the Mackie ProFX4v2 mixer will come in extremely handy. It features an integrated monitor output that allows you to determine how the volume of each separate channel in your floor monitor mix. With the mon control, you can adjust the master volume level. Other handy extras include phantom power supply (should you want to use a condenser mic) a headphone output and a Hi-Z input, to connect an electro-acoustic instrument directly. Wrote the following about Mackie ProFX4v2 analogue mixer
De effecten zijn meer dan voldoende (de meeste mensen zullen vooral een beetje reverb gebruiken, en dan zijn er nog een hele boel andere effecten waar je uit kan kiezen). Je kan de effecten per kanaal regelen, of er ineens allemaal bypassen met een druk op het kleine grijze knopje.
De aparte knoppen voor master, phone, tape (2-track) level en AUX zijn ook mooi meegenomen, al had er boven de master van de AUX gerust 'AUX' mogen staan in plaats van 'MON'. Verder kan is het enige wat sommigen misschien zullen missen een PAN-knop op elk kanaal en/of op de master. In ruil daarvoor blijft het mengpaneeltje wel compact.
Als alternatief (zonder effecten weliswaar) zou ik de VLZ4 802 aanraden. Ik heb zelf nog de VLZ3 802, maar qua functionaliteit zijn die het zelfde. Je mist effecten, maar krijgt wel een ALT-out en PAN-knoppen in de plek (en uiteraard AUX-send en -return en XLR outputs in de plaats van TRS).
Ik ben in ieder geval heel tevreden over de aankoop en kan dit klein, handig mengpaneeltje zeker aanraden!
