General
This extremely versatile mixer, called the Samson MXP144FX MixPad, is the more elaborate version of the MXP144. At an attractive price, it offers impressive extras like a 99-effects FX section and a USB in/output, which allow you to switch on a chorus effect, echo or reverb. The volume of each of these can be adjusted per channel with the FX rotary knobs. Furthermore, you can connect a laptop via USB, to then play back the sound digitally via the MXP1604FX, or to send the stereo mix to your recording software.
MXP144FX: Six Microphone Channels
Just like the MXP144, the MXP144FX is the proud owner of six microphone channels. Behind each of these channels you will find a high-quality microphone preamp, for professional amplification of speech and vocals. Connect your dynamic or condenser microphones to the XLR or jack inputs, after which you can reduce volume peaks on the first four channels with the compression function. You could also connect an external effects device or compressor to the inserts. The last two microphone channels can also function as a stereo channel.
The Outputs
The four stereo channels of the MXP144FX offer space to a keyboard, digital piano, CD players, laptops or MP3 players. Fine-tuning the sound of your microphones and other audio sources is easy with the 3-band equalizers and high-quality volume faders. Send the mix to a set of active speakers via the main outputs (XLR) and use the tape outputs to record with a recorder. Monitoring the sound, on stage or in the studio - you can do it with a headphone or monitor speaker. The eight Mon rotary knobs allow you to create a separate monitor mix.
