General
The entire Signature series, including this Soundcraft Signature 12, owes its name to the British brand’s unmistakable sound and quality. Soundcraft is maintaining its reputation by providing this line of analogue mixers with the same technology from their high-end models. The Signature 12 is equipped with Ghost preamps, which are superb mic preamplifiers known for their natural sound, wide dynamic range, and superb signal to noise ratio. The use of high-quality parts, furthermore, ensure that the robust Signature 12 will last for many years.
Signature 12: Wight Mic Channels
The Signature 12 offers some different (upgraded) functions in comparison to its predecessor, the Signature 10. For instance, it features eight instead of six XLR/jack mic/line channels, the renowned dbx limiters on channels 1 and 2, and two channels that can be used as a stereo input. There is no need for DI boxes since the Signature 12 also boasts two channels that can be used as guitar inputs. A second addition is the subgroup that allows you to make a separate mix of one or more channels that can be transmitted via two jack outputs. Record your stereo mix on your PC or Mac via the integrated USB interface on your PC or Mac.
Channel Strips and Effects
The three aux outputs, combined with the three aux volume controls for each channel, are very handy, since they allow you to connect not only two regular PA speakers, but three monitor speakers as well. You can even create a mix of inputs for each monitor and increase the volume of the piano and vocals while toning down the rest of the band, for example. Use the high-quality Sapphyre 3-band EQ to adjust the tone colour, and add a studio-quality effect to your sound using the extensive collection of Lexicon effects. The possibilities are endless!
