That unmistakable British Soundcraft sound in an extremely rugged package, that's the Signature series in a nutshell. For the Signature line of mixers, Soundcraft chose the tried-and-tested Ghost preamps, high-quality microphone preamps that guarantee a natural sound, lots of dynamics and very little self-noise. Each channel of this mixer features renowned top-notch Sapphyre equalizers. The Soundcraft Signature 16 is simply an impressive device, boasting 12 microphone channels and 100 mm faders!
Signature 16: Additional Ins & Outs
The Signature 16 takes things a step further than its predecessor, the Signature 12. It has four extra mic/line channels (XLR or jack) and features a volume peak limiter by dbx on four channels (as opposed to two on the 12). What hasn't changed is the possibility to use two channels as a stereo input and two others for directly connecting an electric or electro-acoustic guitar. Other practical additions are the extra aux output, for a total of four, as well as the inclusion of a second subgroup. You can store your mix digitally on your Mac or PC via USB.
Comprehensive channel strips
A digital effects unit on a mixing console is no longer that unique. What is worth mentioning is that Soundcraft places quality at the top of its list of priorities—in this case with the Lexicon Effects Engine, which offers studio-quality reverbs, delays and choruses. Besides effects, you can make use of a 4-band equalizer (as opposed to 3) with two sweepable mid-bands, in combination with volume controls for each of the four aux inputs, enabling you to send different mixes to four monitor speakers. You can even create two submixes and send them separately via the subgroup outputs.

We hadden ook geen bedenkingen want we hebben jaren de Spirit 600 van Soundcraft als mixer gebruikt; een robuust mengpaneel dat het altijd goed deed met een hele mooie sound!
Ik weet zeker dat we van de Signature 16 net zo veel plezier zullen hebben.

Soundcraft heeft het beste van hun technieken verzameld in dit mengpaneel en dat is te merken. De EQ sectie geeft veel meer mogelijkheden door de extra mid sectie. Je krijgt dus High. Mid High, Mid low en Low. Je kan daardoor nog makkelijker ruimte maken in de mix. Het is makkelijk te bedienen en verloopt mooi in kleine stapjes.
De kanaal faders zijn niet van die kleine 60 mm maar 'gewoon' stevige 100 mm faders die soepel glijden. De FX sectie is prima voor kleinere tot middelgrote bands en erg goed van kwaliteit. Simpele bediening, gewoon prima. De Signature 22 heeft twee van die fx secties mocht je daar meer in willen. Die is dan ook meer geschikt voor een grotere band met drums en al.
De Signature 16 beschikt over HI Z kanalen zodat je mocht je dat willen gitaren en keyboards rechtstreeks in kunt pluggen in het mengpaneel zonder gebruik van een di box. Ook zijn er een aantal kanalen waarop je een DBX limiter kan inschakelen. Dit geeft je meer controle over je geluid en helpt je om bijvoorbeeld luidere pieken op te vangen.
Al met al een heel mooi mengpaneel voor een scherpe prijs. Wat ons betreft een aanrader. Als de duurzaamheid ook zo goed blijkt te zijn is het helemaal perfect

Doet wat ie moet doen, alleen jammer dat er geen buffer in zit voor je effecten instellingen, die zijn er na even in en uit schakelen uit.
De compressor Limiter op de microfoonkanalen maakt het zingen een stuk relaxter.
Ik heb echt geen spijt van deze koop !
