General
The ZED-18 USB mixer by Allen & Heath offers maximum functionality in a compact 19-inch package. It's robust yet lightweight and boasts 10 mono and 4 stereo channels, 4 AUX sends, which is plenty for mixing an entire band. The ZED-18 is also ideal for permanent audio installations in schools and houses of worship, for instance. Its rugged housing, solid controls and top-quality components makes it able to withstand intense stage situations. Thanks to its USB connectivity, the ZED-18 is perfect for making digital recordings.
ZED-18: top-quality components and functionality
The ZED-18 is equipped with Allen & Heath’s highly-acclaimed DuoPre preamps. The two-step gain design minimises noise and gives you control of the signal levels. What's more, all XLR and jack inputs feature high-quality Neutrik connectors for optimal, reliable signal transfer. The mono channels are equipped with extremely responsive swept-mid 3-band EQs. Both the mono and stereo channels have four AUX sends, pan and PFL functions as well as smooth 100mm ALPS faders. As well as the two Main outputs, you'll also find a separate monitor section with plenty of options.
Live/PA mixer with USB audio flexibility
These days, most mixers have a USB port so you can transfer audio to your computer, but the ZED-18 takes things a step further with a stereo USB port. This enables you to create an effects loop by connecting both a Send and a Return to your computer. This means your computer or laptop functions as an external effects processor for digital audio processing.
