General
The Teenage Engineering EP-136 K.O. Sidekick is a very specific line mixer. In a way, it’s a standard two-channel mixer (two-channel stereo), with EQ and effects. However, given its appearance and build, it is primarily an expansion for Teenage Engineering’s desktop products, such as the Medieval, Riddim and K.O.II. It is therefore within this range (and any future products in this range) that we recommend the Sidekick. As is often the case with Teenage Engineering, there’s more under the bonnet than you’d expect just by looking at the exterior. It’s all down to the key combinations and controls. In terms of effects, you can choose from a filter, delay, tape, looper, tremolo and dub siren. All this is in addition to the equaliser and the gain compressor. On top of that, it’s also an 8i4o USB-C audio interface, making this Sidekick yet another highly comprehensive product from Sweden.

Super sampler, of beter gezegd: Super creativity box! Als producer die eigenlijk altijd ''in the box'' heeft gewerkt, is het heel verfrissend om met zo'n machine aan de slag te gaan. De beperkte(maar zeker niet onvoldoende) visuele informatieverschaffing, zorgt er voor dat je heel erg op gehoor aan het samplen of drummen bent. Ook de Punch-in FX zijn echt onderscheidend tov andere samplers. Een grote toevoeging in mijn assortiment als Sound designer!
