IGS Audio MULTICORE multiband compressor

General

The MULTICORE from IGS Audio is a three-band analogue hardware compressor. The compressor works on the basis of VCAs and is very suitable for mix-buses, mastering or vocals, for example. The crossover frequency between the low band and the mid band can be adjusted between 50 Hz and 1200 Hz, and the crossover for the high band can be set between 1.2 kHz and 12 kHz. The gives a lot of control over compression and makes this a versatile device. All three bands feature a switch that can mute or bypass the band which allows careful scrutiny of the sound.

Three individually adjustable bands.

Each band has fully independently adjustable compression, with controls for Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release and Gain. Also provided are meters that give a visual representation of the applied compression. Besides an on/off switch and master bypass, there is a dry/wet knob, which can be used to adjust the degree to which the effect is applied. All components have been carefully selected to ensure high quality and low noise. For example, the balanced XLR inputs and outputs are equipped with UTM Industry transformers. The MULTICORE can be mounted in a 19-inch rack.
