General
Focusrite's RedNet is a tried and true card for a Windows or Mac computer. With a standard PCIe card slot, the RedNet 256 delivers a full 256 channels with less than 3 milliseconds of latency. It also supports the complete series of standard sample rates, from 44.1 to 192 kHz. A standard RJ45 Gigabyte Ethernet connector connects your audio computer with the rest of the network via a GigE switch.
RedNet: powerful Dante technology
The Dante technology by Audinate offers the perfect infrastructure for RedNet, ensuring a reliable and robust network architecture with standard components. Most of these are well-known by audio professionals. The Dante technology offers a guaranteed 128-in and 128-out architecture at 44.1, 48 and 96 Hz at 64 I/O at 192 kHz.
The RedNet digital converter series with PCIe card
The RedNet series consists of five products: four high-quality, versatile interfaces with the traditional Focusrite values and performance. The sound is of course the most important aspect, though the price/quality ratio is impressive enough that it's certainly worth mentioning! Also worth mentioning is that the optional RedNet PCI Express card is also available for this series for low-latency audio, so you can enjoy 3 ms on every sample rate.
Furthermore, each analogue interface has a dynamic range of 120 dB with 24-bit resolution, so you can use sample rates up to 192 kHz. Every RedNet I/O device also features JetPLL for a very low jitter clock recovery. Focusrite's conversion systems use the newest AD/DAs.
Tips or comments about this product
- For latency performance under 3 ms, a DAW buffer installation of 32 samples is not as necessary.
