General

Boss Katana amplifiers are as fierce and brutally precise as the name implies, and while it is the smallest member of the Boss Katana squad, the 4" speaker and 7 Watt power capacity of the Katana Mini is just as fearsome as its team mates. Packing enough options for the fresh-faced student guitarist, and compact enough to serve as a warm-up tool for the seasoned pro, this wee amp weighs a nimble 1.2kg and doesn't even need to be plugged in since it can run for up to 7 hours on just six AA batteries. As flexible as it is functional, the Mini can also be powered using a Roland PSB-1U power supply (not included).

The Katana-Mini: Small Yet Mighty

As soon as you jack into this wee amp, it's not tough to dial in a solid sound. First, select one of the three sound profiles on offer: Brown, Crunch, or Clean. While Clean and Crunch probably speak for themselves, the Brown setting delivers a furious and solid overdrive that's not far off that of a burning-hot valve amp. Adjust the distortion and output levels using the Gain and Volume controls, then shape the tone in detail using the 3-band EQ section.

The Handy Wee Side-Kick

Just to really sharpen the edge of the Katana-Mini, a built-in delay complete with Time and Level controls has been provided, so a nice layer of atmosphere can be added to your sound. You can also jam along to your favourite tracks using the fitted AUX input and plug in your headphones and mute the speaker for more private rehearsals. The headphone output even doubles as a recording output. Fully equipped with solid sound and practical features, the Boss Mini-Katana is a more than worthy and undeniably loyal wee side-kick.
