Rode carry a number of lavalier microphones in their assortment. This SmartLav and Lavalier microphones are especially well suited for amplifying vocals or speech. In order to let them do their job properly, the mic needs to be positioned close to the performer’s mouth, however. Rode have developed this Lav Headset Large to this end. It lets you to easily position a lavalier microphone precisely where it needs to be and is comfortable to wear. The headset is made of special, hardened steel, making it extremely durable. At the rear you will find a pull relief, which reduces the chances of cable breakage. Ideal for long performances!

Wrote the following about RØDE Lav-Headset Large

Geen goede aankoop. De kabel van de Smartlav+ moet je om de headset wikkelen, hetgeen een slordige uitstraling geeft. Daarnaast is de kabel niet lang genoeg. Deze steekt ongeveer 30 centimeter aan de achterkant uit en moet dus daar al worden verlengd. De ergonomie van de headset is ook gebrekkig. Er moet flink gebeukt en gebogen worden om hem een beetje prettig te laten zitten en de microfoon in de buurt van mijn mond te krijgen. Lang verhaal kort; zesentwintig euro is veel voor een stukje ijzerdraad.

Als een dasspeld microfoon niet dicht voldoende bij de mond zit en je achteraf een oplossing zoekt is een ideale manier!
De headset voelt stevig aan, is licht en valt prima om de oren. Let er wel op dat de achterkant een klein beetje uitsteekt, wat met sommige kleren met hoge boorden wat lastig uit kan komen.
Een ander, klein, nadeel is dat de sennheiser microfoon er wat los in hangt en dus makkelijk er af kan vallen. Dit los je gemakkelijk op met wat tape.
In ons geval wordt de headset door verschillende mensen gebruikt en wat op valt is dat deze headset prima geschikt is voor volwassen mannen maar dat ik achteraf voor volwassen vrouwen misschien een maatje kleiner zou bestellen. Maar dit is een kwestie van persoon tot persoon en uitproberen.
Bij kinderen zit deze headset uiteraard niet ideaal, maar zelfs deze headset blijft redelijk/voldoende om de oren hangen.
