What is a B-Stock Item? Any item we can no longer sell as new is labelled B-stock. This can be for a number of reasons, including damaged or missing packaging, or because the item shows light signs of use. In any case, you can expect the item to work just fine. Years ago, calibration entered the market - adjusting the source sound to make the sound coming out of your speakers neutral. After all, with a neutral sound, you make honest mixing choices. There are software and hardware solutions to this issue, the Audient Oria Mini calibration system is a hardware solution. This is a separate box, with inputs and outputs. The computer (or your mixer, or whatever other source you use), goes to the inputs, your studio monitors go on the outputs. The Oria Mini adjusts the sound itself, there are even multiple profiles available for that. And thus you have calibration without it costing you CPU time. A measuring microphone is included, so you can 'measure' your room yourself. Incidentally, it is often the case that studio monitors need to be calibrated. Indeed, sometimes you can subtly gain something from that. But what you are actually calibrating is the effect of your studio space on the overall sound. After all, your studio is an acoustic space, which, because of the reflections from your walls, floor and ceiling, actually changes the timbre of the studio. That aside; the Oria Mini is a handy stand-alone solution to make the sound of your studio as neutral as possible.
