General

Dropping the tuning of your guitar or bass guitar has never been as easy as it is with the Digitech Drop. This effect pedal is basically the Drop Tune section of the Whammy DT - which means you can tune your instrument up or down simply by kicking this stompbox on. A selector lets you take your pick from nine options: from half a tone to a full octave. The ninth option of the Digitech Drop is an octave down plus the dry sound, for a classic octaver effect.

The Digitech Drop: Polyphone Drop Tuning

Contrary to other pitch-shift pedals, the Digitech Drop allows you to play more than a single note since it's equipped with the same polyphonic pitch-shift algorithms as the Whammy DT. That means you can play entire chords without delay or annoying glitches. Whether you tune down half a tone, seven half-tones or even a full octave, Digitech's Drop accurately picks up and directly reproduces separate notes as well as chords.

Momentary or Latching

In addition to the selector, there's a mini switch on the Digitech Drop that allows you to change the function of the footswitch. Set it to Latching mode, and it'll work as a standard on/off button. Use Momentary, and the effect is on as long as you keep your foot on the switch. This way, you can quickly change between two keys to create mesmerising hammer-on and pull-off effects while you play.
