The Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A25 is a USB/MIDI keyboard that's more affordable than models in their popular S series. Thankfully, it still has the NKS plugin integration that's important to a lot of people. It's a practical keyboard for controlling your plugins and in terms of looks, it's fairly similar to the S series too. Its compact dimensions mean it's easy to take with you and if you also have a laptop, you'll be able to produce music just about anywhere.

Het probleem met de A serie keyboards is dat de aangeslaggevoeligheid (velocity) niet in te stellen is. Deze is zeer laag ingesteld, waardoor je de toetsen keihard moet indrukken om enigszins velocity te produceren.

Vrijwel elke DAW heeft de mogeljkheid om de Midi velocity curve in te stellen, dus je kunt hier enigszins omheen werken. Jammer is echter dat uitgerekend Native Instruments' eigen Maschine en Komplete Kontrol deze mogelijkheid niet hebben.

De speelbaarheid is op zich goed, dus voor het inspelen van leads is deze controller nog steeds bruikbaar. De overige integratie met Maschine is verder prima. Daar heb ik hem uiteindelijk voor gekocht, dus nog steeds tevreden.

Ben je niet per se geïnteresseerd in gebruik met Maschine, dan zou ik naar alternatieven kijken.

De Native Komplete A25, is een prima keyboard met voldoende mogelijkheden en werkt ook met andere VST instrumenteren en via MCU protocol probleemloos met LUNA. Wel zou een wat steviger behuizing beter zijn en mis ik een aan/uit knop.

Prima compacte MIDI controller met full-size knoppen, perfect voor mijn grote handen.

Het hele ding is wel iets hoger dan ik had verwacht, wat dat betreft is het gewoon een volledig toetsenbord waar de overige toetsen vanaf zijn gezaagd..

Enige *echte* nadeel is dat de drukknoppen (dus niet de toetsen) een keihard *klik* geluid maken als je ze indrukt wat door de hele plastic behuizing doorklinkt. Dat had zeker wel wat zachter gemogen.

Het apparaat dat ik heb ontvangen heeft wel een probleem met het toewijzen van een tekst aan de draaiknoppen: wat ik ook toewijs, de 2de draaiknop toont altijd "@W)" of andere willekeurige ASCII tekentjes. De 1ste draaiknop heeft dit ook heel sporadisch.) Ik weet niet zeker of dit een hardware- of softwareprobleem is. (Als ik dit test vanaf een Mac maakt-ie van *alle* labels een rommeltje dus ik vermoed dat dit een software issue is.)

Verder werkt het apparaat prima, dus ik negeer dat probleem gewoon. Ik ben inmiddels zo gewend aan dat ding dat ik geen zin heb om hem terug te sturen/in te ruilen voor een andere. :)

Samen gekocht met FL Studio als mijn starterspakket om in de wereld van muziekproductie te stappen. De installatie was ontzettend makkelijk, echt plug en play. Er wordt ook aardig wat software mee geleverd. Daarnaast heb je de mogelijkheid om een upgrade te kopen voor Komplete Select, waardoor je voor een zacht prijsje nog behoorlijk wat software krijgt (waaronder Massive!). De software is ook makkelijk te installeren en te integreren in FL Studio. Verder is het een ontzettend prettig apparaat! De toetsen voelen degelijk aan en De A25 is een fijn compact formaat. Er zit verder geen adapter bij, de Midi controller krijgt voeding via USB.

Mocht er iemand nog tips hebben wat ik absoluut niet kan missen met het produceren van muziek (ik wil me gaan focussen op Drum & Bass), laat het mij weten! Mvg, Edwin.
