General

The LK-S250 keyboard is fitted with 61 touch-sensitive keys and catered specifically towards beginner keyboardists, since Casio have thoughtfully equipped it with several educational functions. There's the Chordana for Keyboard App-function that teaches you how to play all of your favourite tracks in a flash while the Key Lighting System tells you exactly which key to press. Combined with Casio's 'Step Up' lessons, this keyboard teaches you all the basics. Use the Dance Music Mode to create your own dance tracks; play and record the bass, drum and synth parts yourself and simply throw them together to create fun dance songs.

All the basics in a practical design

With 400 available sounds, the LK-S250 not only comes with all the standard instruments on-board, it also packs synthesizers, drum kits and special effects and offers you the possibility to play along with 60 preset songs and 77 accompaniment rhythms. The smart and lightweight design of this Casio keyboard features a cut-out on the top that doubles as a carrying handle, enabling you to take it with you and play anywhere. It gets its power from a power adapter but can also run on six AA batteries. Next to the basic functions, Casio have jazzed up the LK-S250 with a USB port and a microphone input so you can optionally add sounds, samples, songs and a microphone.

het is een aardig keyboard, aanslag is goed. maar display heeft geen backlight, dus als er geen lamp op staat kun je niets lezen.
Qua geluid klinkt dit keyboard als speelgoed, geen lage tonen en geen helder hoog. De Yamaha EZ-300 klinkt echt 10x beter. De LK-S250 is dan wel lichter, maar als je een versterker van een paar kilo voor een fatsoenlijk geluid nodig hebt .......
Bovendien kan hij maar 4 toetsen tegelijk laten oplichten, dus als je iets serieuzer aan de gang wilt is ook hier de Yamaha duidelijk de betere keus.
Ik heb de LK-S250 teruggestuurd en heb nu veel plezier van de Yamaha EZ-300, die wel wart groter is, maar daarbij ook enkele grote voordelen heeft :-)

Een erg fijn keyboard voor de beginner. Qua geluid is deze Casio net zo goed als de Yamaha's in zijn prijsklasse, en de portabiliteit is geweldig; door de afmetingen en het handvat is wegleggen en tevoorschijn halen een eitje.
Waar je dit model natuurlijk écht voor koopt zijn de lichtgevende toetsen. Het voegt echt iets toe aan het leren en het plezier in spelen, maar er zijn wel limieten aan bijvoorbeeld het aantal toetsen dat tegelijk op kan lichten.
Het ingebouwde lesprogramma is wel oké, maar de ingebouwde liedjes vind ik niet geweldig, en voor zo ver ik heb kunnen ontdekken kun je die niet uitwisselen. Je zal het keyboard dus vooral gebruiken met de usb aansluiting en de gratis Cordana app, of met bijvoorbeeld Synthesia. Dat maakt de portabiliteit helaas wel meteen wat minder. Cordana heb ik nog weinig gebruikt omdat het op telefoons of tablets werkt, maar werkt prima. Gebruik je een PC dan is het wat ingewikkelder om de oplichtende toetsen aan de praat te krijgen, maar het werkt uiteindelijk wel.

De MicroUSB aansluiting voelt kwetsbaar, ik had liever USB C of een andere grotere connector gehad.
Er is geen wieltje voor pitch bends, en alleen een aansluiting voor een sustain pedaal.

Al met al vind ik het een goed keyboard, maar het is duidelijk gericht op leren. Daar is het een goed keyboard voor, dus je zult hem snel ontgroeien en naar een iets uitgebreidere opzoek gaan.

Top keyboard voor beginners! Makkelijk te gebruiken en goed geluid! Als je piano wil leren spelen en niet al te veel budget hebt is dit een top oplossing. Waarschijnlijk wil je als je al een tijdje speelt wel iets beters...
