General

The Waldorf Blofeld Keyboard is basically the Waldorf Blofeld synthesizer, but with 49 semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch, plus pitch and modulation wheels as an added bonus.

Envelopes

The Blofeld Keyboard allows you to use up to four envelopes with either a single or polyphonic trigger - particularly compelling with the monophonic voice allocation, as you can set the filter envelope to be triggered by just the first note, while the amp envelope is triggered on each note. Additionally, the Waldorf synth offers you a choice of various envelope and loop types.

Oscillators

The three oscillators of the Waldorf Blofeld Keyboard feature circuit models of analogue waveforms: pulse (with variable pulse width), sawtooth, triangle and sine wave. Oscillators 1 and 2 offer wavetables that were also used for the Waldorf Q, Wave and Microwave XT/II, and both feature a ring modulator that enables you to create pounding bass tones and leads.

Filters

The Blofeld Keyboard offers two stereo filters per voice, which can be routed in series or parallel. Filter types include low pass, band pass, high pass and a notch filter, and each filter has a range of 12dB/oct or 24dB/oct slope.

Effects

The Blofeld Keyboard features two effect slots with various effect types. Set to multimode, the first effect slot is available per part, while the second slot can be used for all parts simultaneously. Chorus, flanger, triple FX, delay, clocked delay and reverb are all there for you to choose from.

Arpeggiator

Naturally, the Waldorf synth features an arpeggiator - and an impressive one at that! It features variable clock divisions from 1/64 triplets to more than 1,000 bars, a swing/shuffle function and a range of up to ten octaves. You can program your arpeggios using the extraordinarily powerful Pattern Editor, which allows you to edit each step in minute detail. No wonder this practical editor received such high praise after it was first introduced with the Waldorf Q!

Erg tevreden met deze veelzijdige synthesizer. De vele programmeermogelijkheden maken het een inspirerend instrument, waar veel interessante geluiden uit te halen zijn. Komt wat mij betreft het best tot zijn recht in pads en de wat meer digitale geluiden, maar doet ook in andere disciplines zeker niet onder. De Blofeld vormt daarom een goede combinatie met een analoge synthesizer. Bouwkwaliteit is uitstekend. Ook heel geschikt als midicontroller, vanwege de hoge kwaliteit van de toetsen.

Een buitengewone diversiteit aan mogelijkheden en een prachtig geluid met alle mogelijkheden. Van wat ik heb gezien en gehoord ben ik van deze erg onder de indruk, nogsteeds, imo hoort deze hoog bovenin de ranking en deze synth voor alle stijlen toereikend. Bezit ook een Roland system1 en Korg mikrokorg die vallen in het niet naast dit kunstwerk.

Ook het Keybed gewoonweg perfect, tevens voorzien van aftertouch wat zich uit in een wolk van geluid. Geen plastic troep maar een robuuste stalen omhuizing, 8 kilo. Een eindbaas.

Een uitstekende synthesizer met een machtig geluid en veel bijzondere patches.
De synthesizer is gestoken in een geweldige stalen kast, uiterst robuust.

Toetsen spelen plezierig, aftertouch werkt ook perfect.
Zoek in deze synthesizer niet naar een mooie piano of een natuurlijke trompet.
Wel prachtige leads, mooie volle toon met analoge trekjes en zeer gevarieerde geluiden.
Alles ook nog eens eenvoudig zelf te tweaken - mooie overzichtelijke toegang.

Handig is de keuze op type, zoals b.v. atmo (space sferen), pad (mooie rijke geluiden), arp, bass, FX (puur genieten).

Het is veel synthesizer voor een bescheiden prijs.
