General

The body of the Yamaha FS850 is made completely of mahogany, which gives it a warm look and a pleasant, mid-tone sound. The FS850 is a compact concert model, which is ideal for guitarists who prefer something that isn't as big and bulky as a Dreadnought. What's more, the 850 models all have mahogany binding along the body as a decorative element. The abalone soundhole rosette adds the finishing touch to this elegant instrument.

Designed and built with care

About five decades ago, Yamaha launched their successful FG and FS series steel-string acoustic guitars and they have been known ever since for their high-quality sound and craftsmanship. Each and every instrument has been enhanced over the years and scrutinised in detail before leaving the factory. The 800 range received an improved scalloped bracing for accentuated bass and mid tones, and a more slender neck with rolled fret edges for greater playing comfort

Wrote the following about Yamaha FS850 NT Natural acoustic steel-string guitar

Having watched and listened to all the reviews I was convinced that this guitar would produce a rich and resonating tone whether picking or strumming it is ideal as you learn new songs.
I would strongley recommend this guitar to any intermediate player or above. I have changed the strings of a set of earnie ball light gauge metal strings this together with the mahognay wood means that when it has been tuned the end of chords sounds so sweet like a telephone ringing ! It is very unlikely I will sell this guitar as I consider it to be that good a one off.

Het grote assortiment van Bax maakt het kiezen lastig. Ik had lang lopen wikken en wegen op zoek naar een gitaar met mooie afwerking en mooie klankkleur. Wat betreft uiterlijk vind ik dat de foto's op de site de gitaar geen recht doen. De hoogglans is in werkelijk prachtig en de kleur is donker en warm. Een aanwinst in mijn woonkamer.
Dan de klank....volledig mahonie en dat hoor je ook. Wat me ook opvalt in vergelijk met mijn vorige gitaar , is dat de tonen ook op hoog op de toets zo zuiver zijn.
Ik schrijf niet vaak reviews, maar ik ben ontzettend blij met mijn aankoop. Toch altijd een risico online. Je weet niet hoe het gaat aanvoelen en klinken.
Mijn hobby heeft weer een boost gekregen!
