General

Yes, yes, it's a booster and buffer but it does so much more. Add this masterful little box to your effects chain and you'll immediately notice what the fuss is about. In the first place, it provides the perfect buffer; able to seamlessly and effortlessly compensate for any interference caused by long cables or overflowing pedalboards while giving your signal a big or mild kick for an extra dose of volume or drive, if preferred. Ok, so it still sounds much like a standard, albeit elevated, buffer/boost but there really is more.

Unique Sound Controls

The Z-TONE Buffer Boost is fitted with the tasty Z-Tone section from its sibling, the Z-TONE DI, which in turn emulates IK Multimedia's AXE I/O audio interfaces. But its origins are irrelevant since this section gives any guitarist or bassist an incredible tool to form their instrument sound with precision before adding on effects and amplification. Also, the Z-TONE Buffer Boost is an advanced preamp/DI box in that it will gladly accommodate active or passive pickups thanks to the included active/passive switch. Just across from this, sits the JFET/Pure switch that flips the tone from enveloping warmth to completely uncoloured and flawless sound. And, you can satisfy the urge to experiment with the centred Z-Tone pot. Essentially an impedance control, this pot spans tight, knife-edged tone to thick power. Simply add this magic box to your arsenal and find out exactly what it can do to the rest of your pedalboard.
