What is a B-stock product?

A product becomes B-stock when it can no longer be sold as new. It can simply be a product that has been returned by a customer or it may have packaging that is damaged or missing. It’s possible that the product itself may show slight signs of use or damage too. All B-stock products are fully checked to ensure that they work properly and you can find details of why the product is a B-stock in the information above.

B-stock information

The B-stock tab on the product page shows information about the B-stock product. Be aware that this information supersedes anything you may read in the product description. The product description includes text and specifications about the product in its brand-new state. It’s possible that a B-stock item may be missing accessories mentioned in the text or specifications, for instance, but if so, this will always be mentioned in the B-stock information. B-stock products also include photos of the actual B-stock item so that you can see exactly what it looks like.

B-stock photos

The B-stock photos allow you to see the actual B-stock product you are considering purchasing. The photos show the following::

  • Photo of the brand new product
  • Photo of the B-stock product with packaging (if included) and any accessories
  • Photo showing the front of the B-stock product
  • Photo showing the back of the B-stock product
  • Photo showing any damage to the B-stock product (if applicable)

Original packaging

Packaging in good condition: undamaged (sticky tape residue may be visible)

Packaging missing: replaced with a Bax Music box

State of product:

Signs of use (no damage or scratches): smudges, fingerprints and/or dust
Scratches/damage: product has scratches and/or damage

General

If you're lucky enough to unearth a real tonewheel organ on the second hand market, then well done. If it also happens to be a Hammond B3, then you're basically the boss of everything. If you can take it to the stage, then the universe is yours, my friend. Well, kind of - these sonic beasts are notoriously sensitive and difficult to... carry. So, good luck with that. Since we do live in the future, however, there is another way. The Crumar MOJO-CL is a virtual tonewheel organ - that's not to say that it isn't a considerable piece of very physical hardware - but open the hood and you'll find that the sound is generated by software alone. Going on the look and feel of this instrument, this is pretty hard to believe.

Features of the Crumar MOJO-CL

First of all, this Mojo weighs just 18kg. This is featherweight when you consider the fact that a B3 weighs in at a meaty 140kg (even without the stool and pedals). So, for the relatively slimline 18kg, you're getting a whole lotta organ. Two octaves over two waterfall keyboards that literally glide beneath the hands; drawbars, complete with that characteristic click; rotary and vibrato; in fact any tonewheel organ related feature you'd care to name is provided by the Mojo-CL. The satisfying vintage look of the wooden cabinet is thankfully finished with a DIN-MIDI and a USB-MIDI port, making studio integration as simple as it gets, and as flexible as it gets, since besides virtual organs, you get a MIDI keyboard with waterfall keys - not something you witness every day. In short, for less than £100 per kilo, you get genuine prog-feel and a just as genuine tonewheel-monster in your very own studio, living room, and even on stage.

Crumar MOJO-CL Virtual Tone Wheel Organ

Do not buy from Bax .
Ordered this organ on 30 March. Was delivered three days late and only because chased it up. Deleted a fault 6 days later. Contacted “Customer Services” ( and ironic term if ever there was one) and the boxed keyboard sat in my hallway for over a week. Eventuality got picked up and they have , again now had it back for 8 days but refuse to process the replacement or return . So they have my money since March 30th, I had the keyboard for 6 days and they had it back for 2 more days than I had it . Multiple promises for call backs and emails but non received . Do not buy from this company.

Crumar MOJO-CL Virtual Tone Wheel Organ

Purchased this instrument from Bax Music with prompt delivery and as usual good service, I have purchased a number of products from Bax Music and on each occasion the transactions have been smooth without issue. Now to the Crumar Classic.
I originally had the Crumar Mojo which gave me a number of years of service without problem using it live and in the studio but the layout always bugged me, when the New Classic arrived the control surface was what one would expect of a Hammond Console with everything in the right place, at the time of my purchase there were hardly any demos to be found online but from what I had heard sonically it was a big improvement. So I took a punt and ordered the Classic which arrived in about four days along with the Crumar wheeled case.

Having now used the Classic for a good period of time I can confirm that not only is it reliable but the sound is superb, notable points are that the waterfall key action is close to my A100s and the onboard Rotary is so good that I now do not use a Leslie which is less equipment and hookup to worry about. The Chorus/Vib is much improved on previous models and as a Hammond replacement it fits the job nicely at less cost than other clones on the market. Sure it doesn’t have 9 key contacts so there are a few things you cannot achieve but for live work its of no consequence.

Having tried out the Hammond Suzuki offerings, Nord, Roland imho the Crumar is far better and having done a A/B of the Classic against two of my A100s one a 64 model the other a 71 model its hard to tell the difference and of course with the large collection of Generator models with the Classic it easy to get it to sound like any Hammond you’ve ever heard. It’s a shame Crumar haven’t offered a traditional B3 type wooden stand but I understand the commercial reasons why that is.

Build quality is as good as anything Ive seen elsewhere except for the Hammond Suzuki XK5 which feels a stronger build quality and while the keybed of the Crumar might not last long with windmill chops if its treated with respect I would say it would provide several years of reliable service.

Crumar MOJO-CL Virtual Tone Wheel Organ
