General
The Lowden F20-CE Mahogany & Sitka Spruce is a premium electro-acoustic acoustic guitar that combines Lowden’s signature acoustic tone with high-quality amplification for the stage and studio. Thanks to its comfortable F-body (grand auditorium), this model offers an excellent balance between playing comfort, projection and definition. The direct response makes the guitar particularly well-suited to both refined fingerstyle playing and powerful strumming, whilst the cutaway provides effortless access to the higher frets on the neck. As a result, the F20-CE is equally at home across a wide range of musical styles and playing situations.
Solid woods, hand-built quality and L.R. Baggs electronics
Only solid woods have been selected for the construction: a Sitka spruce top combined with a solid mahogany back and sides. This combination produces a bright, open tone with a fast attack, a warm and well-defined midrange, and a controlled low end. Like all Lowden guitars, the F20-CE is hand-built in Northern Ireland by experienced luthiers, resulting in an exceptional standard of finish, optimal resonance and a superbly tuned playing experience.
The distinguishing feature of this model is the integrated L.R. Baggs Session VTC pickup system. This high-quality system is renowned for its natural, dynamic amplified sound, whilst convincingly preserving the acoustic character of the guitar. The discreetly concealed volume and tone controls allow the sound to be easily adjusted during performances, without the need for external equipment. This makes the F20-CE not only an excellent choice for live use, but also for direct recording via a DI box or audio interface. The guitar is also fitted with Gotoh SG381 tuning machines, comes factory-strung with Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings (12-53) and is supplied with a sturdy case for optimum protection during transport.
