The pedal that single-handedly spurred a reverb-based revolution has been given a healthy upgrade. The next-gen BlueSky now features an analogue JFET input, full MIDI functionality, a Tone Shaping function and more. That JFET input is a pretty big deal, since this humble input is supported by a discrete/divided Class-A internal preamp that's been designed to handle instruments with a high impedance curve - like an electric guitar - and is responsible for improved dynamics and an even more accurate response, setting up this pedal for any guitarist, no matter the playing style.

An Improved ARM Processor & Tone Shaping

Significant developments in the smartphone and computing industry now allow multiple tasks to be performed at the same time while consuming far less power. This level of tech has been worked into the design of the Strymon BlueSky V2, so you're getting less power consumption alongside increased sonic detail, and the Tone Shaping function has a big part to play in that detail. The Mod switch toggles between two modulation intensity levels or off, while the newly-added Shimmer pot can be tweaked to create atmospheric effects by layering an octave-up over the original signal, and the Pre-Delay pot grants control over the time it takes for the reverb effect to kick in. So, this is definitely the BlueSky, but even better.

Strymon BlueSky V2 Reverberator

De Strymon blueSky V2 heeft waarschijnlijk maar weinig toelichting nodig onderhand, dit is echt een absolute benchmark geworden door de jaren, vooral op het gebied van worship-muziek. De shimmer-functie is daar vooral verantwoordelijk voor, die zorgt voor een fantastisch mooie aanvulling op je gitaargeluid. De Strymon blueSky V2 is wat mij betreft heel goed te combineren met een Strymon Cloudburst, die zijn namelijk net even verschillend van elkaar en zo hoef je tijdens live optredens weinig tot niet aan knoppen te draaien om een en ander in te stellen: gewoon switchen van pedaal en je kan verder.

Ik had de blueSky V2 al lange tijd op het oog, ook omdat ik hem tijdens concerten vaak tegenkwam op pedalboards van veel gitaristen en ik serieus verliefd werd op vooral die onwijs mooie shimmer (wat Strymon doet, doen ze altijd weer ontzettend goed). Erg blij mee, hier krijg je geen spijt van, aanrader!
